A Red Flag Warning has been issued for Malibu on Monday, and hot weather is probably here to stay for most of the week.
An extreme fire danger persisted throughout the weekend and has carried over into this week with the Red Flag in effect until 8 p.m. Monday. Santa Ana winds of up to 90 MPH were recorded in the Malibu hills on Sunday, and Monday will bring temperatures in the 80s and 90s across the region.Â
Some regions could hit triple-digits, according to the National Weather Service, and new record highs might be set Tuesday through Thursday. Everyone is reminded to stay hydrated, wear light clothing and keep an emergency kit on hand.
