Sherry Lucia Satriano


Sherry Lucia Satriano, 30-year Malibu resident, business owner and mother, died Saturday at Cedars Sinai Medical Center. She was 63.

Satriano was born Oct. 1, 1944 in Michigan. She grew up in Woodland Hills at the “Shoup House,” and moved her family to “Journey’s End” in Malibu in 1975. She owned and operated the Malibu surf and clothing stores, California Shirts and Boards and Beach Asylum for 10 years.

Satriano enjoyed horseback riding on the beach, swimming in the Pacific Ocean next to dolphins, and opening her home and her life to others. After years of attending her children’s multiple sports games, Satriano helped start and served as the star goalie for the Malibu Dolphins women’s soccer team.

Satriano is survived by her mother, Clara Mastrippolito; brothers, Peter and Domenic Mastrippolito; children, Bridget, Gina, Lisa, and Nick Satriano; five grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Satriano’s life will take place at the family’s Point Dume home on Saturday at 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Satriano’s name to the California Wildlife Center at or the California Minuteman Secure the Border project at Click on California.
