The students of Pepperdine University have once again made a very emotional statement on the front lawn, having those wonderful flags waving in the breeze to represent the men and women who died on 9/11 and our soldiers who have recently died for our freedom. Each time I pass those flags different feelings come to mind. It is quite an emotional feeling of patriotism to say the least. It is a statement that represents many who say, “I am glad to be an American.”
I am especially happy that the students have spent lots of time, energy and caring to make such a statement to the world that they, too, appreciate all our military men and women have done to try and keep us free and safe. I am hoping that in the years to come that this will become a tradition for the students at Pepper dine. They are our future and I appreciate them being here to study and improve the next generation.
