Thursday The City of Malibu, Heal the Bay, Malibu High School and other local organizations are sponsoring “A Day Without a Bag” to promote the use of reusable bags instead of single-use plastic bags. Free tote bags will be given away at Ralph’s in Malibu Colony Plaza, 23841 W. Malibu Rd.; Pavillions, 29211 Heathercliff Rd.; Pacific Coast Greens, 22601 Pacific Coast Highway; Banana Republic in Malibu Village Plaza, 3844 Cross Creek Rd.; and in the Cross Creek Road shopping district, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. For more information visit www.malibucity.org.
Thursday night the City of Malibu hosts its holiday party, where participants are encouraged to bring a toy for the “Spark of Love” toy drive, at Malibu City Hall, 23825 Stuart Ranch Rd., at 4 p.m. To RSVP, call 310.456.2489.
The Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station Toy Drive concludes Dec. 16. New, unwrapped toys for children ages one to 16 can be dropped off at the Malibu/Lost Hills Sheriff’s Station, 27050 Agoura Rd., until Friday. For more information call 818.878.1808.
