The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department has planned a DUI and Driver License checkpoint for Malibu on Friday, Aug. 5 between 7 p.m. and 3 a.m.
The checkpoint will be taking place “at an undisclosed location within the City of Malibu,” according to information from Detective Mike Ranes.
DUI checkpoints have been proven to reduce “the number of persons killed and injured in alcohol or drug involved crashes.”
During the checkpoint, “deputies will be looking for signs of alcohol and/or drug impairment with officers checking drivers for proper licensing.” The process should only delay drivers momentarily.
