In March 23, Malibu Patch.com posted its “Top Contributors”: 1. Andy Lyon; 2. Bob Purvey; 3. Mr. Malibu; 4. Steve Woods; 5. Stephenie Glas. As of March 21, Andy Lyon was the only one that remained a member of Malibu Patch.
Richard Core, Patch.com regional editor, greater Los Angeles, emailed me and wrote: “You’ve been suspended from Malibu Patch. You and Stephenie Glas, Mr. Malibu and Steve Woods have worn out your welcome with your badgering of others in the comments.”
Stephanie, Steve and I made comments in support of the lagoon project on Patch, referencing documented facts supported by numerous scientific reports, candid photos, video and the history associated with the long standing Malibu Lagoon Task Force (MLTF), established in 1996, which has been overseeing the development of the lagoon project since 2000. The MLTF was formed with the three homeowners associations, commercial developers, all the environmental organizations, government agencies and numerous schools who have an interest in the heart of Malibu.
Stephenie Glas is a professional firefighter, health consultant, surfer and kite surfer residing in Malibu, concerned about the health and beauty of her community. In reply to comments offering her knowledge and opinions about the plans for the lagoon restoration on Malibu Patch, “Mr. Malibu” repeatedly posted baseless preposterous accusations about her. Despite numerous complaints, Mr. Malibu was allowed to continue his barrage of accusations.
Now we are banned, along with Mr. Malibu, from MalibuPatch.com, with no rational or legal basis. Mr. Lyon, who has a long history of histrionics, remains as a contributor to the current lop-sided discussions on Malibu Patch.
We demand that Mr. Core provide evidence that we were “badgering others.” To date, we have not received the courtesy of a reply.
Bob Purvey
