Rule an entrapment

In regards to drinking alcohol at the beach, I believe it’s an entrapment when there are no signs posted anywhere except for the back of the lifeguard station.

We’re middle aged couple minding our own business, having a picnic, when two officers sneaked up on us and gave us a citation for consuming one glass of wine. I politely mentioned to the officers that there are no signs along the roadway of this fact or else I would have not have even considered drinking on the beach. The officer stated that it was posted on the back of the lifeguard station. I thought to myself, “One has to check in with the lifeguard station for the latest laws each and every time one visits the beaches in Malibu?” I observed that other middle aged couples were also cited during the same time.

Unlike other beaches, there are no signs posted along the roadway or edge of the beach. If there had been, we would not have broken the law.

Earlier that afternoon, two sets of officers passed by us and did not mention of the law. It must have been the red solo cups that gave us away, since we are such rowdy lawbreakers.

How can anyone, of legal age, not break this law?
