The Waves women’s sand volleyball team is all smiles after completing another undefeated season.

The Pepperdine University women’s sand volleyball team wrapped up an undefeated regular season and earned the team title at the USAV Beach Collegiate Challenge in Hermosa Beach on Saturday. The first-ranked team completed the season 18-0, bringing its all-time record to 32-0.

The Waves beat out a number of top-ten teams at last weekend’s competition, including number-two Long Beach State, fifth-ranked UCLA and Hawaii, ranked at number six. In the opening match, Pepperdine won all five matches against Hawaii in straight sets. The team then took on UCLA and emerged with a 5-0 victory before beating Santa Clara 5-0. Finally, Pepperdine won the top three contests against Long Beach State to keep its perfect record.

Next, the Waves will travel to Gulf Shores, Ala., for the 2013 AVCA Collegiate Sand Volleyball National Championships May 3-5.
