Longtime Malibu resident Robert Wilcox died July 7 in his home. He was 62.
Wilcox was born in 1949. His parents, Wayne and Helen Wilcox, were nearing completion of the Malibu Riviera Motel at the time. He attended Webster Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High School, Santa Monica High School and Santa Monica College. In 1968, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served in Vietnam. Wilcox was honorably discharged from the Navy in 1972 and returned to Malibu. Back home, he dabbled in photography, a passion of his, and later helped manage the motel.
Preceding him in death are his father Wayne and his wife Carol. Wilcox is survived by his mother Helen Wilcox (92) and his younger brother Gary Wilcox.
No services will be held, and no donations are requested.
“Just a random act of kindness for your fellow man in Bob’s name would be nice,” Gary Wilcox said.
