Malibu resident Janice Villaros will have her short film, “Heaven’s Door,” featured in the Cannes Film Festival, Court M/trage short film corner. The film is about an abused woman who falls in love with her fianc/’s sister and relives their love through her paintings. In addition to directing, Villaros also takes part in the film as an actress.
Another work of Villaros’ called “Deep Water,” a music video that she collaborated with Vietnamese artist, Vu Ngoc Phuong (Phoenix Vu), will be screened at the Long Island International Film Expo in July. Janice and Phoenix directed, produced, shot and edited the music video, which has been screened in various international festivals.
