Be a good neighbor

I want to urge people to contribute to the fund to help get Barbara Rude back in a home in Paradise Cove. One mobile home was destroyed and Barbara was burned out of her home by a fire on June 7. When I moved into Paradise Cove in 1985 she was the first person to greet me with “Hi, neighbor.” She is a dear friend to many and the epitome of a good neighbor. Here is a great story of a woman who believes in giving back to the community, spreading good karma, has a positive attitude, is supportive of others and ready to help others at a moment’s notice. She readily practices what she believes. Now it’s our turn to help her. Last Saturday, family, friends and neighbors showed up to move what could be salvaged into storage. She was awed by their efforts and very appreciative.

I hope the Malibu community will contribute to the fund for Barbara Rude, at Malibu Methodist Church, 30128 Morning View Drive. I’m grateful for the efforts on behalf of my good friend and friend to many in our community.
