Kerry’s moral stance

I urge your readers to find an “art/alternative cinema” and hurry to see “Going Upriver, The Long War of John Kerry,” a remarkable documentary about our rueful presence in Vietnam, the impressions of the soldiers who fought there, and the events which led to Kerry’s becoming involved in the leadership of the group called Vietnam Veterans Against the War. The footage of Kerry’s testimony before Congress is startling and certainly shows us a calm and discerning leader of his people. That he is a moral person who expended quite a lot of selfless energy to do what he thought was right, both in the war and immediately afterwards, leads me to expect more good from his presidency than one might from our current “Commander in Chief’s.”
