In a sudden move to shore up votes along the Malibu shore after a four-year absence, Congressman Henry Waxman paid a visit to the Malibu Democratic Club July 8.
Perhaps fearing Independent Bill Bloomfield’s real challenge as a serious contender, Waxman falsely claimed that President Obama reached out to Republicans to pass ObamaCare, when in truth the bill was shoved through Congress with backroom deals, subsidies, and immoral parliamentary maneuvers.
Waxman neglected to mention that a significant minority of Democrats also voted against ObamaCare, and they still want it repealed.
While Waxman continues to claim defiantly that this nation is not broke, voters acknowledge that the country cannot continue spending money that it does not have.
For Waxman to dish on the hyperpartisan positioning in Washington is like the pot calling the kettle black. He has authored and engineered legislation contrary to the best interests of the country and the American people, Cap and Trade and ObamaCare, both of which will kill jobs and shrink investment.
He bullied fellow Congressmen during his tenure as chairman of the House Oversight Committee. He has stalled legislation that would create jobs, like the Keystone Pipeline, while justifying federally guaranteed loans to bankrupted green companies Solyndra.
Waxman already senses the threat to his over- extended tenure in Congress, and so are the voters in the 33rd Congressional District.
To end the gridlock of tax, spend, waste, and fraud in Washington, Waxman must go.
