The Collegiate Baseball Preseason Poll was recently released, with the Pepperdine Waves sitting at No. 30 — the highest ranking of any West Coast Conference (WCC) team.
Coming off its second straight WCC title, the Waves will return the majority of their starting lineup for the 2016 season, including regular starters A.J. Puckett, Ryan Wilson, Chandler Blanchard and Max Gamboa. First-team All-WCC honorees Brandon Caruso and Matt Gelalich, as well as WCC All-Freshman honoree Jorsan Qsar are also expected standouts.
The Waves open their season against Oakland on Feb. 19 — the first of seven home games in a row at the beginning of the season.
