Every year, for the past 12 years, we have selected a number of Malibu citizens and/or organizations to be the recipients of The Malibu Times Citizens of the Year Award, called the Dolphin Award. We began the Dolphin Awards because we want to recognize Malibu citizens and organizations for their outstanding efforts in contributing to the community.
We’re asking you to assist us in the selection process by nominating Malibu citizens or a group you think are deserving of recognition. Their community service can be in any area of life in Malibu-arts, education, entertainment, environment, health, athletics, public safety, government, charity and maybe another category we haven’t even thought of. Send us a one-page letter or e-mail telling us whom you think should be a Malibu Times Citizen of the Year, describing in detail their contributions to the Malibu community. Former honorees and the years they were awarded are reprinted on page A 16. E-mail us at agyork@malibutimes.com or fax your nominees to 310.456.8986. The deadline for nominations is this Friday, Jan. 17 by 5 p.m.
