More than 200 students attended a discussion with Emilio Estevez and screened the Malibu director’s new film, “The Way,” at Pepperdine University on March 9.
The film stars Malibu actor Martin Sheen-Estevez’s father-in a father-son story of acceptance set in northern Spain’s historic pilgrimage route of St. James, “El Camino Santiago.”
Sheen plays an American doctor, Tom, who arrives in Europe to collect the body of his recently deceased adult son, who was killed while walking the St. James route. Instead of returning to America, however, Tom decides to finish his son’s pilgrimage.
