Members of the Executive Board of the Malibu Democratic Club met yesterday and voted unanimously to write a resolution to be delivered to the Malibu City Council requesting that members do everything in their power to help the much needed Artifac Tree retain its lease at its Cross Creek location.
All communities have disadvantaged people. All communities have people who need help, but not all communities have a caring and demonstrably helpful organization focused on giving TLC and love to those who need it most. Malibu has a heart and Artifac Tree is at the center of it. What kind of city would stand by silently and kill our centers of goodness? We cannot allow that to happen.
The Artifac Tree has been a necessary release valve in town for more than 40 years and has made the difference in the lives of our residents in so many ways from helping abused women, taking care of sick and abandoned animals, assisting and finding work for Malibu’s own troubled youths, and turning around the lives of homeless adults. It is not just the needy that benefit from this amazing charitable organization. The Artifac Tree sprang to life by furnishing bereft fire victims with necessities to keep them going until they could get back on their feet again.
Malibu Democratic Club also encourages everyone to sign the petition in support of Artifac Tree and to do everything possible to assure the continued well-being of the Artifac Tree.
