Barricading Civic Center Way at Winter Canyon Road is the wrong answer. We have traveled this corridor for many years taking our six children to attend Webster and Our Lady of Malibu schools. We need to stop speeding cars in Malibu, not close roads. This wrong decision will affect many of our east end Malibu citizens and businesses. It is also a waste of energy, time and a road that would be used in emergencies. If Commissioner Roney can document statistics that would indicate there is a problem, then we could put yellow warning lights; reduce speed to 25 miles per hour or even a traffic signal. Remember students only attend school approximately 52 days a year. Please correct this poorly thought out decision to close the road.
