Local Malibu author Ed Salven returned to Diesel, A Bookstore with his new novel “In Search of the Illuminati,” which is number one on the bestsellers list for fiction this month. Also, thanks to Valentine’s Day, a book of poetry made it onto the list: “Love Poems,” by Pablo Neruda. In nonfiction, the two selections for One Book, One City-Malibu, the city’s month-long event to promote reading, made it up onto the list: “My Fifty Years in Malibu,” by Dorothy Stotsenberg, and “Malibu: California’s Most Famous Seaside Community,” by Marian Hall. The two books are good place to start in discussing the past, present and future of Malibu. For children, series books continue their strong sales, especially with the new “Lightning Thief” movie coming out.
