Authorities treat a male driver who was injured in a crash on Tuesday at Las Flores and Pacific Canyon Road. The male was placed in a stretcher and taken to a local hospital.

One person was injured in a two-car accident at the intersection of Pacific Coast Highway and Las Flores Canyon Road on Tuesday afternoon. Both cars suffered front-end damage and ended up at the corner of the intersection closest to Cosentino’s Flower Shop.

The crash occurred at approximately 1:30 p.m. and it appeared one male, who was traveling alone in one of the cars, was taken to a local hospital via ambulance. He was wearing a neck brace and placed in a stretcher, but appeared alert and talking to authorities. Three women who were traveling in the second car were not injured and able to exit the car on their own.

The details of the accident were not immediately clear, but westbound traffic was backed up Pacific Coast Highway as firetrucks, ambulances and Sheriff’s patrol cars blocked the number two westbound lane in front of Cosentino’s Flower Market. The northbound lane of Las Flores at PCH was also blocked off as crews worked to gather witness information and clear the scene.

Update: By 2:30 p.m., the scene was cleared from the roadway and traffic was flowing.
