Pepperdine will host grammy-nominated reggae and hip-hop artist Matisyahu Sunday, April 7 at 7 p.m. at the Firestone Fieldhouse.
Pepperdine’s Judaic Cultural Awareness Club and the Center for Entertainment, Media, and Culture are collaborating to present a night celebrating Jewish culture.
Preceding the acoustic performance, Matisyahu will host a “Convosation” and question-and-answer session with attendees at 5 p.m. Pepperdine students who present school IDs will receive convocation credit for their attendance.
Tickets for the concert are listed for $6.27 here and must be purchased in advance.
Matisyahu’s music is known for combining traditional Jewish themes with reggae, rock, and hip-hop beatboxing sounds. In 2005 his single “King Without a Crown” was among the Top 40 hits in the United States.
