Malibu resident Robert C. Adler received the Distinguished Alumni Award from Washington University’s College of Arts and Sciences in St. Louis, Mo. March 24, according to a press release from the university. Adler was honored along with four other alumni during the 14th annual awards ceremony last month. The award “recognizes graduates who have exemplified the ideals embodied by an Arts and Sciences education and have brought honor to Washington University through their lives, work and service,” the release states.
Adler studied anthropology as an undergraduate, receiving his degree in 1972, and graduated from the School of Dental Medicine in 1976. He worked as a faculty member at the university as well. After conducting research at UCLA, Adler launched a health care effort in the Middle East.
