To the untrained eye, it may appear that I am a rabble-rouser at heart, a late blooming activist who has found a cause to attach to that gives meaning to an otherwise dull life. Nothing could be further from the truth. I am ridiculously and happily busy with an interesting, full and rewarding life that provides me with plenty of “feel good” opportunities. I don’t need a diversion, and really don’t like to make trouble. And still, I find myself rousing the rabble, calling, again, upon my friends and neighbors to make their wishes known about the community center, flower-buying, chicken-chasing Trancas Nursery that has been threatened with eviction.
Please write letters to the owners and send us copies at savetrancasnursery@gmail.com. Please search for Save Trancas Nursery on Facebook, and post the group and fan links with your friends. It only takes seconds, and can genuinely make a difference. Please join us in making our voices heard by the owners of the new Trancas Shopping development, so that they honor the promise they made to respect the wishes of the community members who will ultimately be their patrons, and their neighbors.
We can preserve the Malibu we love, at least what’s left of it, but it will take all of us, collectively, rousing our rabble. Yet again I awoke today in awe that I get to live in this beautiful place. As I said at one of our meetings recently, I feel that I’m a servant to the still small voice within. Listen to yours, and if it asks you to take some action, however small, toward helping save this beloved piece of the true Malibu, please take action.
