From the Little League kickoff to the Purim festival, there’s plenty to do in Malibu this weekend.

The 2012 Malibu Little League season official begins Saturday. The opening ceremonies begin at 10 a.m. and will include the singing of the national anthem by Universal Recording artists Cimorelli and first pitch thrown by Miss Malibu, Brie Gabrielle. The Young Actors Project’s spring fundraiser “Play It Forward” kicks off Saturday from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Malibu Beach Club, 30756 Pacific Coast Highway. Food, music, improv, live performances and a fashion show are on tap, as well as music by DJ Lady Splash. Proceeds benefit performing arts. Donations are still being accepted for the silent auction. On Sunday, the Malibu Jewish Center and Synagogue hosts its annual Purim Carnival, featuring a rock climbing wall, games, prizes, a raffle and kosher food, at the Malibu Jewish Center, 24855 PCH, at 11 a.m. 310.456.2178
