Malibu Optimist Club Youth Appreciation Week culminated in a breakfast in early February. More than 100 students, parents and faculty were in attendance, according to information from the club. Malibu Mayor Pro Tem Karen Farrer served as emcee for the event.
Students were honored based on citizenship and community contributions.

•Malibu High School: Hunter Shanahan, Emerson Roth, Saxon Rhodes, Trent Simonian, Ayla Bobrowsky, Maggie Flores, Amy Jimenez and Collette Aldrich
