Letter: Dog Discrimination

No more contributions to state parks! Having lived in Malibu since the ‘70s, I now discover that dogs are no longer allowed on state park trails. Not even on a leash, armed with baggies to collect waste.

The reason given is that dogs might bring disease to wildlife, except in campsites or picnic areas. Where is the logic? What about humans bringing disease? Dogs don’t light fires or deface rocks with graffiti. They don’t have loud parties and they don’t disturb artifacts. Come on, state parks. Stop bullying.
