Pepperdine University has been named one of the top 100 universities in the United States as part of Forbes Magazine’s annual ranking of America’s top 650 undergraduate colleges.

The Malibu school came in at No. 100. In its rankings, Forbes partnered with the Center for College Affordability and Productivity and analyzed universities’ reputation for student satisfaction, post-graduate success, student debt, graduation rate and nationally competitive awards.

“We’re not all that interested in what gets a student into college … Our sights are set directly on … What are students getting out of college?” wrote Forbes staffer Caroline Howard.

Tuition at Pepperdine costs an average of $58,812, according to Forbes, and 81 percent of students receive some form of financial aid from the school. Approximately 7,539 students attend Pepperdine, 3,474 of whom are undergraduate students.

Forbes praised the school for its environmental awareness and use of recycled water, along with its list of distinguished alumni such as Chipotle COO Montgomery Moran and eHarmony cofounders Neil and Marylyn Clark.

California schools took the top two spots, with Stanford University ranked No. 1 and Pomona College second. Princeton, Yale and Columbia rounded out the top 5. For the full list, visit here.
