With a grand opening party, a film screening and a petting zoo, there are plenty of ways to enjoy the weekend in Malibu.
On Friday, Duke’s hosts its grand re-opening party, featuring food and drink specials, along with a performance by the Roman Helmets. There will also be a raffle, with all benefits going to the Shark Fund. On Saturday, the Malibu Film Society host s a screening of “Diner,” the 1982 comedy written and produced by Barry Levinson, starring Paul Reiser, Steve Guttenberg, Daniel Stern and Kevin Bacon, among others. Reiser will introduce the film and host an audience Q&A afterwards. The screening takes place at the Malibu Screening Room, 24855 Pacific Coast Highway, at 7:15 p.m. Entry coasts $15 for adults and $10 for students the day of the show, discounted ticket prices available by making online reservations. On Sunday, Cornucopia’s Malibu Famers’ Market hosts a special event, featuring food, shopping and a visit from Chevre Lavande’s goats for children to visit with. All proceeds from the event go to the Cornucopia Foundation’s Environmental Learning Center.
