Saving the elephants of North Luangwa

Mark and Delia Owens found themselves in the midst of an ivory poaching war in Zambia in 1986, where commercial poachers were slaughtering up to 1,000 elephants a year. They established the North Luangwa Conservation Project to rehabilitate and conserve the national park there and save the elephants.
