A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic collision in Malibu on Saturday, Aug. 20 at 4:30 p.m., according to multiple reports.
The motorcyclist was later identified as 58-year-old Florentino Couce of Marina del Rey.
According to California Highway Patrol Officer Leland Tang, Couce was riding on a Ducati sports bike down Latigo Canyon Road when the collision occurred. A Mazda was making a left turn onto Latigo Canyon Road from Ocean View Drive where it collided with the motorcyclist. Couce suffered “multiple traumatic injuries” according to officials with the LA County Department of Coroner.
The motorcyclist was transported to the UCLA Medical Center in Santa Monica where he died from his injuries, according to the Los Angeles Daily News.
The driver of the Mazda was not reported injured.
