Correct pole inaccurary

When I attended the Malibu Bay Company open house several weeks ago in western Malibu I was assured that story poles would shortly be erected to represent the 6,000 square-foot single-family houses proposed for the property west of Trancas Canyon Road.

What has been erected neither reflects the outline nor the topography of the structures, as required by the City. Is the Malibu Bay Company exempt from city story pole policy? The policy requires developers to outline the footprint of proposed structures in toto and connect the top of the full form with orange tape.

For those of us who love living here and who attended the Malibu Bay Company’s open house (which more accurately represented the development), the story poles are inaccurate at best, and terribly misleading.

I ask the City to hold the Malibu Bay Company to the same standards as every other developer or private party building in Malibu.
