Malibu locals and visitors looked for Lucky the Leprechaun who was hiding in Malibu Bluff’s Park at the St. Patrick’s Day Gold Hunt on Friday morning. Children, family and friends joined the fun in the Michael Landon Center, where most of the activities were held.
Hosted by the City of Malibu and the Malibu Library, the annual St. Patrick’s Day celebration was a fun-filled day; festivities included arts and crafts with Makers Mess, music time with Cheryl Lev, stories with the Malibu Library, face painting, snacks and the much anticipated gold hunts.
Owner and performer of Fairytales Entertainment Los Angeles, Morgan Gannes led the children on a trail as Tinker Bell, to search for Lucky the Leprechaun and his pot of gold. First stop—Lucky’s Loot, where children received a bag of goodies, rainbow snacks for fuel at the next stop. At the end of the trail, the children finally found Lucky the Leprechaun’s pot of gold! Squeals of excitement could be heard as children reached into the pot of gold and found “gold nuggets” of all sizes. They added a few to their Lucky’s loot bag and sipped on ‘gold juice.’
Children spotted Lucky the Leprechaun as he dashed in and out of the shrubbery, peeking at them.
