Malibu High School (MHS) varsity football played its homecoming game on Friday, Oct. 9 at 6:30 p.m. A large crowd filled the stands as the MHS Sharks beat Verbum Dei Eagles, 38-26, under the direction of Coach Terry Shorten. This is the team’s second win of the season, and its first win since the first game against Windward on Aug. 28.

Sharks fans were encouraged to wear black. Halftime performances included MHS cheerleaders, the dance team and the drum line. Homecoming Court and the Class Float Parade  were also on display during halftime.

Fare for the evening included Mr. D’s Barbecue, sushi burrito truck Jogasaki and Hawaiian shaved ice. A portion of proceeds from food sales benefited the MHS ASB.

Homecoming week, which spanned Oct. 5-10, concluded Saturday night with a Homecoming Dance. The dance took place at the Malibu Lumber Yard and was catered by Café Habana.
