The City of Malibu, on its website, reported receiving a Notice of Proposed Amendment on the Malibu Lagoon Restoration Project from the California Coastal Commission dated May 3, 2011. The amendment consists of: removing the existing, approximately 800-ft. long chain link fence along the southern property boundary; revise project plans to delete approximately 800-ft. long perimeter wall/barrier along the southern property boundary; and construct a new approximately 800-ft. long, 3-ft. wide, dirt/gravel—surface maintenance corridor along the southern boundary for the purpose of maintenance and security patrols. The brief on the city’s website states that the CCC considers the amendment to be “immaterial” and will modify the permit in 10 days if there are no written objections. The brief states that CCC staff conveyed that the changes were a response to requests from the Colony Homeowner’s Association.
