A crane is used to hoist a male victim who fell down a cliff on PCH across from Neptune's Net.

Ventura and Los Angeles County firefighters rescued a man Tuesday morning who apparently fell from an oceanside cliff across the street from Neptune’s Net Restaurant in western Malibu.

Surfers who witnessed the accident said the male was “standing near the cliff as the mud he was standing on gave in” and “lead to a serious fall.” He fell approximately 30 feet, the Ventura County Star reported.

The fall occurred around 9 a.m. and required the use of a crane to hoist the man to safety after he had been secured into a basket. The extent of the man’s injuries are not known. He was transported to Los Robles Hospital, according to the VC Star.Â
