Malibu resident Ben Holmes of Point Dume played left guard in Saint John Bosco’s big win over its rival, Mater Dei, which was telecast on FOX Sports Network. Ben, who is the son of Malibu lawyer Henry Holmes, is six-foot, four-inches and weighs 310 pounds. He has been playing as a sophomore on Bosco’s football team. Bosco was last year’s California Interscholastic Federation, state and national champion and this year, they have a 5-1 record.
Ben, a former Malibu Middle School student, said he is excited to hear of the success of the Malibu Sharks, especially in their win over Santa Clara. He is also excited about the formation and play of the Malibu Sharkies.
