The Pepperdine University baseball team downed West Coast Conference (WCC) opponent University of San Francisco (USF) on Friday, April 1, and Saturday, April 2, before dropping the final game of the series on Sunday, April 3.
A.J. Puckett led the Waves to a 2-0 victory on Friday, matching his career high of 10 strikeouts. Chase Lambert and Brad Anderson contributed with home runs in the seventh and eighth innings, respectively.
The Waves posted their second straight shutout against the Dons on Saturday, picking up late in the game to score five runs in the final two innings. The Waves posted a total of 12 hits throughout the game, as opposed to USF’s three.
The Dons came back on Sunday, closing out the series with a 3-1 victory over the Waves. Mathew Knafer scored the Waves solo run to lead off the ninth inning.
The Waves will be on the road this weekend for a three-game WCC series against Santa Clara
