Malibu resident Albert Sweet was awarded an honorary fellowship from the Technion-Israel Institute of Technology during the Technion International Board of Governors meeting in Haifa, Israel, which took place from June 12 to June 15.

Sweet has been involved with the institute for four decades. He is the founder and chairman of the Board of Occidental Entertainment Group Holdings, Inc. and is an active member of the ATS Board of Directors of the Southern California Chapter.

Sweet and his wife, Janey, are both Technion Guardians, and have established the Janey and Albert Sweet Experimental Testing Laboratory in the David and Janet Polak Center for Cancer Research and Vascular Biology in Haifa.

“I have been distinguished with many honors over the years; but in fact, it is my honor to serve others in a way that merits generous recognition such as this,” Sweet said. “Although there are many worthwhile endeavors that I support, the achievements of the Technion have benefited mankind in more ways than I can count, and they have made me very proud to be Jew.”
