Tuesday, 11:30 p.m.: New information from L.A. County Waterworks District 29 indicates one lane, not both lanes, of westbound PCH will be closed while repairs are made on a leaking 18-inch water main.
The L.A. County Sheriff’s Dept. initially estimated both lanes would be closed for two days. However, a spokesperson for District 29 said repairs should be completed by Wednesday morning in the 27000 block of PCH. No water outages were reported as a result of the leak, but some customers might have experienced low water pressure.Â
A water main break has forced authorities to shut down both westbound lanes of Pacific Coast Highway at Via Escondido Drive for two days, according to the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department.Â
Westbound travelers are being temporarily rerouted into the center median as crews work to repair the break. Via Escondido is located just west of Latigo Canyon Road. The break was reported on Tuesday afternoon around 3 p.m., according to sheriff’s deputies. A cause of the break and extent of the damage was not yet known.Â
