Youth acting group to perform "Romeo and Juliet"

The Young Actors Project will perform renditions of “The Secret of NIMH” and “Romeo and Juliet” June 6-June 9 at the Malibu Stage Company.

Two different age groups will present the story of a widowed field mouse, Mrs. Frisby, and her quest to save her home with the help of former lab rats.

“The Secret of NIMH” is based on the award-winning children’s book by Robert C. O’Brien and will be performed June 7- June 9.

Performances by age group 9-12:

Friday, June 7, at 7:30 p.m.

Sunday, June 9, at 2 p.m.

Performances by age group 7-9:

Sat., June 8, at 2 p.m.

Sunday, June 9, at 5 p.m.

Young Actors Project will also perform a unique version of William Shakespeare’s “Romeo and Juliet.” The classic love story presents two lovers, whose families are enemies, and their tragic deaths.

Performances for “Romeo and Juliet” are scheduled on:

Thursday, June 6, at 5 p.m.

Saturday, June 8, at 7 p.m. 

Sunday June 9, at 5 p.m.

Young Actors Project executive director Shoshana Kuttner will be directing both plays.
