Press for LNG veto

Many thanks should go out to all the people of Malibu who attended the April 18 public hearing at Malibu High School. The people of Malibu now need to keep the pressure on to oppose BHP Billiton’s Cabrillo Port project. If we don’t continue the fight, we will have their 14-story LNG terminal off our coast and in our future, polluting our air, polluting our ocean and our coast and killing our sea life, and also putting all of us at risk in the event of an LNG spill, leak, explosion, vapor cloud, or other such accident.

I urge everyone in Malibu who opposes this project to please take a moment to send Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger an e-mail at governor@governor.ca.gov, or fax at 916.445.4633. Your e-mail can also be sent to notobilliton@yahoo.com and your e-mails will all be forwarded to the Governor’s office.

The Governor has the power to veto this project. Malibu residents and anyone else who cares about our precious coastal environment needs to write to the Governor via a letter, an e-mail and/or a fax asking for this veto so that this project does not go forward. The people of Malibu need to continue their fight for opposing BHP Billiton’s LNG terminal. If not, then we will have no one to blame but ourselves if this project is allowed to go forward. Please don’t allow that to happen!
