Alice L. Pettus died Nov. 30 at Santa Monica-UCLA Medical Center.
A Malibu resident since 1963, she was well-known and loved as the proprietor of Celebration Gardens, a landscaping and gardening service.
Pettus was born in Gary, Ind. in 1924. She married Kenneth Pettus, a screenwriter, in 1947.
Pettus is survived by her son, Christophe.
A memorial service will take place at Malibu United Methodist Church at 30128 Morningview Drive on Dec. 22 at 6:30 pm.
